Jigsaw
Actually like this one more than most in the Saw franchise. The franchise as a whole is a lot of fun and it is cool seeing how to twists piece themselves together to fit into the overall narrative of the series. Loved the direction that this one went in and was genuinely thrilling throughout. Was not expecting to see where it landed on the timeline or the bigger picture overall. Some gnarly kills are always welcome.

Cars 2
I genuinely enjoy this film even though most Pixar fans seems to hate it. Like the setting a lot. Think it looks gorgeous. I just had a lot of fun with this one. Don't get the Mater hate in this one. He could have been even more annoying but he is endearing in this for me. Not as good as the first of course but enjoyed it more than Cars 3 and a lot of other Pixar films.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire
A step up from the first film in every single way. One of the best YA adaptations ever and definitely the best YA dystopian adaptation. The bigger budget does wonders for this movie and showcasing how wild this hunger games actually is. Loved the book and loved the movie. Takes the series in an interesting direction that people not familiar with the source material might find really surprising.

Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues
Doesn't quite live up to the iconic first one. Not many comedic films of that era do. But it is still a hilariously good time throughout that is deceptively smart with what it wants to say. Will Ferrell is the best as Ron Burgandy. Don't think they could have gotten someone better for these movies. Some moments are ridiculously funny.

Morbius
A fascinating look at why the Sony Spider-Man cinematic universe is an inherently flawed idea. What's this supposed to do? Why would anyone care? Maybe if these films would actually make their characters the villains they are supposed to be it could be a bit more entertaining, but making them into anti-heroes doesn't make sense. This movie is boring.

Jessica Jones
The most lowkey Defenders saga shows which is a good thing. It allows to really explore Jessica Jones a a character. Love how strong her characterization is throughout the series. Think the first season is one of the best of all the Netflix Marvel shows. Loses me towards the end of the series though.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes
This is probably my favorite movie of the Caesar reboot trilogy. Like how it takes its time in setting up the beginning of the apes fighting back. Structured like a superhero movie of the time which is kind of funny. Think this one is a bit more lighthearted for portions of it compared to the Matt Reeves' one which I appreciate. Planet of the Apes doesn't need to be the most serious franchise ever.

Cars 3
This might sound wild, but I like Cars 2 a bit so this newest installment felt like a bit of a let down for some reason. Might need to go back and rewatch it, though as I like the Cars franchise overall. Think it is playing with some interesting ideas and I like the direction they took Lightning but it just wasn't that engaging for me.
