The Outliers All Have Fantastic Mutant Abilities
The X-Men will need to first defeat the Outlier before they can train them
Gail Simone is setting up a majorly horrific villain in her Uncanny X-Men run, as the prophesized "The Endling" emerges and threatens to eradicate the entire mutant race, right after the brutal fall of Krakoa. Both Sadurang and Harvey X hinted that one of the new Outliers is actually the Endling, and while the ghost-summoning Deathdream seems like an easy choice, knowing the X-Men the true Endling will be a character no one expects. Besides Deathdream, the other Outliers are Calico, who possesses a powerful psychic connection with her horse Ember, and Ransom, who manifested a black hole for a heart when his X-Gene activated. Jitter is rounding out the new young mutants, whose "hyperfocus" ability appears to blend Taskmaster and Prodigy's abilities.

X-Men's New Trainee Mutant Is the Perfect Evolution of Cyclops
As Uncanny X-Men introduces the team's next generation of students, Marvel debuts a unique mutant with Cyclops' ideal superpower.
Until now, the Outliers powers have not been seen in action, but their fighting skills and intriguing abilities will finally be on full display in Uncanny X- Men #2. Facing down in the swamps of Louisiana, Rogue, Gambit, and Wolverine must battle the Outliers after their intense and emotional encounter with the dying Harvey X. The preview reveals the first transformation of Becca Constance Simon-Pinette - Calico - whose psychic connection with her horse Ember allows her to manifest new horse-forms, as the young mutant brutally attacks Rogue. At the same time, Gambit is confronted and kicked by Sofia Yong - Jitter - whose unique-looking power signature jumps off the page. Finally, the terrifying Hotoru - Deathdream - assaults Wolverine with the horrifying power of the undead.
The Uncanny X-Men's New Mutants Are Not The Only New Mutant Students
Exceptional X-Men will debut three powerful new mutants as well
The newest From the Ashes era of the X-Men follows the Fall of Krakoa, where scores of mutants were left behind - or chose to stay - on Krakoa within the White Hot Room. Now, multiple X-Men comics are introducing new mutants, including Eve Ewing's Exceptional X-Men. ing Calico, Jitter, Ransom, and Deathdream as the X-Men's newest recruits are Bronze, Melee, and Axo. These young mutants, living in Chicago, will need to learn how to control their mutant abilities under the tutelage of Emma Frost and Kate Pryde, as they fight against mutant oppression in a brave new world for mutantkind.
Interestingly, the preview for Uncanny X-Men #2 does not show Ransom, the new mutant whose heart houses a black hole, battling Rogue's X-Men. Ransom, whose costume is absolutely awesome, could be the team's leader - holding back in the battle because he has a level head - or his ability could be so dangerous he doesn't feel comfortable unleashing it. Regardless, the Outliers full debut will certainly be explosive, as the X-Men must discover why these young new mutants are attacking them, and what entity is after them.
