Wizards Of Waverly Place's Reboot Confirms Justin & Juliet Broke Up After The Original Finale

The Wizards Of Waverly Place Couple Didn’t Last

Throughout the original run of Wizards of Waverly Place, Justin dated Juliet, a vampire with whom his family had an age-old rivalry. Although they had their ups and downs, Juliet and Justin ended up together in the series finale. However, Wizards Beyond Waverly Place' synopsis reveals that Justin and Juliet broke up sometime after the original show ended. Justin now has a family with a mortal woman, meaning his lengthy relationship with the teenage vampire didn’t last. This is a tragic twist since the duo seemed to live happily ever after judging by the show’s original ending in 2012.

Although Juliet didn’t appear in the 2013 special The Wizards Return: Alex vs. Alex, there was no reason for viewers to think that she and Justin had broken up. No matter how many character dynamics Wizards Beyond Waverly Place succeeds in recapturing, it is sad to see that one of the cutest love stories from the original series will be forgotten in the follow-up. That said, there might be a justification for this. Wizards Beyond Waverly Place’s Justin might be taking his inspiration from an even better love story, namely the one shared by his parents in the original show.

Justin Getting New Wizard Power and a Job Offer in Wizards of Waverly Place

By giving up the WizTech heaster position, Justin is following in his father’s footsteps. He is living a mortal life with his family, so it makes sense that he, like his father, would also marry a mortal woman instead of a vampire. Justin marrying a mortal woman means Wizards Beyond Waverly Place can be more like the original show as this gives his children a reason to hide their magic powers. Having two supernatural parents could have normalized magic in the Wizards of Waverly Place reboot, whereas Wizards Beyond Waverly Place can now feel more like the original show.
