Warning: Spoilers for She-Hulk: Attorney At Law episode 9

She-Hulk: Attorney At Law’s decision to introduce Skaar begs the obvious question: who is his mother? As many speculated would happen, She-Hulk’s mysterious subplot regarding Mark Ruffalo’s character culminated in Smart Hulk coming home with Skaar. In Marvel Comics, Skaar is the son of the Hulk and a character conceived during his time on Sakaar.

Unless Marvel completely changes Skaar’s comic book backstory, it stands to reason that Skaar’s mother is Caiera. Caiera was one of the many characters that Hulk crossed paths with after the Illuminati shot him into space. Sometime after landing on Sakaar and becoming a seasoned gladiator, Hulk met Caiera and developed a romantic relationship. Unbeknownst to him at the time, their time together led to his son, Skaar, being born in secret on the planet, but only after the Hulk’s departure for Earth. Hulk and Skaar didn’t meet until after the former returned home and kicked off his crusade against the Illuminati.

Caiera was a member of the Shadow People, a mystical race native to She-Hulk episode 9.

As for where she fits into Hulk’s story, Caiera and the rest of her tribe acted in the service of a warlord called the Red King. It was under his tyranny that Hulk was forced to fight as a gladiator on Skaar. The Red King instructed her to supervise the Hulk, but over time, her loyalty to the Red King wavered. Upon discovering his villainous nature, she helped the Hulk rebel against him and later agreed to become the Hulk’s wife. Later on, she lost her life when Galactus arrived to consume her world.

Is Caiera Going To Appear In The MCU? It Would Make Sense

Hulk and Caiera embrace on Sakaar in Marvel Comics.

Based on Caiera’s connections to Hulk and Skaar’s stories, it makes sense that she’ll be a factor in the movie or show Marvel was setting up in the She-Hulk: Attorney At Law season 1 finale, whether it be World War Hulk or something else entirely. Her role may not amount to anything more than a flashback if the story stays on Earth, but Skaar’s live-action debut is too huge for it to go unexplained. It feels like it’s only a matter of time before Caiera becomes MCU canon.
