EDITOR'S NOTE: This article is for Wordle answer #435; the August 29th Wordle answer is available now.

August is bringing the heat with another new, and fairly difficult, Wordle word for the day. Throughout the month of August most Wordle answers have been a fairly easy affair, but hopefully, the last few days become a little more difficult and challenge normal players of the game. One of the most enjoyable feelings in Wordle is being able to solve a word that players may not even know the definition of. Words that aren't commonplace in the normal routines of the day. A game that can encourage learning is always a win.

For an even more difficult challenge, Wordle does offer a Hard Mode which can be accessed through the options menu before starting any of the daily words. This mode locks letters based on previously given hints. If a letter is correct, players must use that letter in all subsequent guesses. The same applies to letters that are incorrect, they are locked out of being chosen in future tries. This simply forces players to think a little harder and not rely on just guessing a random word to open up a few more letter possibilities. Hard Mode is also a great way to lower the number of guesses it takes to get a Wordle win since there is no way to waste a turn.

Today's Wordle Answer (August 28th #435)

Wordle 435 August 28 Attempt

The August 28th Wordle answer is GAUZE.

Another uncommon word for most people, and a tricky 'Z', could cause a few hiccups in today's game. For our starting Wordle word we used IRATE, this provided a correctly placed 'E' and an incorrectly placed 'A'. Leading into the second guess there was a huge number of options to try, but our second guess was BADGE. This was the game-changer, it cemented in the correct location for 'A' and gave us a single misplaced 'G'. Assuming the 'G' started the word we tried and successfully achieved a Wordle win-in-three- with GAUZE.
