April 8th brings a brand new word to many people's favorite morning puzzle, Wordle. All throughout 2022 players have been jumping into the game every day to play this simple word-guessing game. Its simple game mechanics and once-a-day nature has helped it grow in popularity throughout the year. This is especially noticeable on social platforms where Wordle's ambiguous colored emoji boxes litter the timelines of most social media sites.
One of the best tips for playing Wordle is to turn on its Hard Mode feature in the options menu. At the upper right corner is a small gear, clicking this will access the menu where players can turn on this optional mode. Hard Mode forces players to use the hints given in any previous guesses. If the game shows that 'S' is not in the answer, players will not be allowed to use 'S' at all in any future guesses. This also applies to correct letters, if 'A' was proven to be in the correct spot it must be used in all future attempts in that correct placement. This may seem harder when players first try it but in the long run, it helps by forcing critical thinking and not allowing guesses that are sure to be incorrect.

Today's Wordle Answer (April 8th #293)
The April 8th Wordle answer is SCARE.
As a fairly common word, most players shouldn't have any issues with today's answer. However, there is always the possibility of getting stuck in a multiple options loop. With ending letters like 'ARE', players could easily lose by guessing the wrong beginning letters. Flare, share, glare could each have players wasting their six guesses and getting more frustrated as time goes by.
For our starting Wordle word, we used ROAST, which provided quite a lot of information. A correctly placed 'A' and two incorrectly placed letters with 'R' and 'S'. For our second attempt, we went with BEARS, this provided an incorrectly placed 'E' and solidified where the 'R' and 'S' should be. It was an easy jump to the correct answer after this and we solved today's Wordle in three guesses.
