Walker. Supernatural, which ran on The CW for 15 seasons between 2005 and 2020, starred Padalecki and Jensen Ackles as monster-hunting brothers Sam and Dean Winchester. Over the years, Supernatural introduced many new characters into the fold, including Abel's Adam Milligan, who is the younger half-brother of Sam and Dean and appeared in a total of 5 episodes between 2009 and 2015.
After Supernatural ended, Padalecki took the lead role of Cordell Walker in Walker, which is a reimagining of the classic Chuck Norris series Walker, Texas Ranger. The series follows Cordell as he returns to his hometown and investigates the mysterious death of his wife. The cast of the series, which is currently airing season 3 on The CW, also includes Keegan Allen, Molly Hagan, Violet Brinson, Kale Culley, Coby Bell, Jeff Pierre, Odette Annable, and Ashley Reyes.
Per EW, Abel is about to reunite with Padalecki for the first time since Supernatural ended. He will be ing the cast of Walker for a recurring role as the mayor's chief of staff Kevin, beginning with the November 10 episode "Something There That Wasn't There Before." The character, who won't present a very good first impression, will enter the orbit of Walker's crew when he hires Trey (Pierre) and Cassie (Reyes) as security for an fundraiser.
Every Supernatural Reunion on Walker Explained
Most likely because of the fact that Padalecki is an executive producer on Walker, the series has included quite a few Supernatural reunions since its premiere. The most prominent of these is the fact that Mitch Pileggi (who played Samuel Campbell on Supernatural) is one of the main characters of the series, Walker's father Bonham. However, the Supernatural actors who have appeared on the series for various lengths of time include Beth Broderick, Colin Ford, Genevieve Padalecki, Richard Speight Jr., and Amara Zaragoza.
The CW has certainly tried to encourage as many Supernatural features as possible. This also extends behind the camera, where in addition to sharing 9 of the sound department and director Amyn Kaderali, Walker has brought on Ackles himself for a stint in the director's chair for the season 2 episode "No Such Thing as Fair Play." Given this track record, it seems highly unlikely that the Supernatural references and crossovers will end with Abel's recurring gig, so viewers can look forward to more Easter eggs in the coming seasons.
