There's a new Prismatic Evolutions Pokémon Trading Card Game product out on shelves, but they're selling out at an extreme rate. Earlier this year, the Pokémon Trading Card Game released Prismatic Evolutions, a new special set focused on Eevee and its evolutions. Since its release, finding cards has been difficult due to high demand and a staggered release schedule. The latest Prismatic Evolutions Bundle has triggered a new wave of demand for Pokémon cards, hearkening back to the days of the COVID-19 pandemic when cards were almost always unavailable at retailers.

This week, the Pokémon TCG released a new booster bundle of Prismatic Evolutions cards. This booster bundle contains six packs and is intended to be an easy way to purchase multiple booster packs without worrying about other promo material that usually comes in boxed sets. However, booster bundles are in high demand and are selling out at almost all retailers extremely quickly. VGC reports that the British retailer Smith's Toys had multi-hour lines, with customers limited to buying just one bundle per set. The Pokémon Center online store also quickly sold out of their allotted supply.

The main draw for the Prismatic Evolutions set is the Special Illustration Rare versions of the various Eevee evolutions. For instance, the Umbreon ex SIR card is selling for over $1,100 on TCGPlayer and other secondary sites, and other Eevee evolution cards are selling for hundreds of dollars. There is a very slim chance that players can collect all the Eevee-related Special Illustration Rare cards via a "God Pack," which has pushed demand for booster packs even higher.

The Overwhelming Demand For Prismatic Evolutions Is Ridiculous And Over-The-Top

Prismatic Evolutions is a highly sought-after set, but the instant sellouts and outrageous secondary prices only hurt fans. The Pokémon Company needs to take steps to fix its supply issues or, at the very least, make sure that it's releasing stock in a responsible fashion. I'm disappointed that there's no way for normal fans to pick up a Prismatic Evolutions booster bundle, and I hope that the Pokémon Trading Card Game makers are planning on releasing more stock until everyone gets a chance to buy the cards they want.
