The Monday, August 14th Wordle is a sneaky one and could easily ruin a player's long-standing win streak. There are no obvious tricks in today's answer but it is not a very common word in regular conversation that could throw a player off.
There is an argument to be made that knowing a Wordle answer is hard makes the game easier. When a person's brain expects a challenge, it tends to think a little harder and almost forces focus on the task at hand. This is a great way to relax and enjoy a Wordle puzzle without any distractions, go in with a "this is difficult" attitude, and come out a winner.

Today's Wordle Answer (August 14th #786)
The August 14th Wordle answer is SNAKY.
For today's starting Wordle word we used POUND which provided only a misplaced 'N' and a lot of incorrect letters. Moving forward we tried NIGHT, this only locked in even more incorrect letters and another wrong spot for 'N'. Feeling a little defeated we tried CLEAN as our third guess and a way to push out the other vowels. This provided a vowel with 'A' and not much else.
Knowing there were only two possible spots for the 'N' we tried to maneuver it around a bit. The word had to be either 'AN' in the second and third spot or 'NA'. The single vowel also proved trouble since it either needs to repeat or 'Y' is involved. We had a really lucky guess for our fourth one with JANKY. It wasn't the correct answer but it was the perfect setup, providing the 'KY' ending and the only possible spots for 'N' and 'A'.
Our final guess was the correct answer, SNAKY. To be perfectly obvious, we weren't even sure SNAKY was a word, but it was the only one that made sense with the leftover letters so we went for it and scored our Wordle win-in-five.
