The Netflix original sitcom Tires was renewed for a second season before season 1 even debuted, and there are already exciting updates about season 2. Created by stand-up comedian Shane Gillis alongside John McKeever and Steve Gerben, Tires follows Will (Gerben) who inherits his father's struggling auto-repair business called Valley Forge Auto. While trying to put the company back on the right track, he is constantly hounded by his cousin Shane (Gillis) who makes it his life's mission to undermine Will's efforts to fix the business.
The six-episode first season of Tires wasn't particularly well-received by critics, and many noted it was hardly the most original comedy to grace the streaming airwaves (via The ending of Tires season 1 left the door open for more, and the second season will give the show's creators a chance to add some more substance to the story on top of the usual chuckle-inducing comedy.

The Release Date & Trailer Are Revealed
Coming around a year after the debut of season 1, the latest news confirms the release date for Tires season 2. The raunchy sitcom is now set to return on June 5, 2025, and looks to build on the success of the debut outing. To announce the release date, Netflix dropped a teaser in the form of a scene between Shane and Will. The latter finds the former sitting in a customer's car and gives him his bonus check. Naturally, Shane is unhappy with the size of his bonus and proceeds to bully Will mercilessly.

In an unusual move, Netflix opted to renew Tires for a second season before the first had even debuted (via Variety). The streamer, notorious for its lengthy delays between seasons, opted to guarantee a sophomore outing for the Shane Gillis vehicle, and it was likely Gillis' burgeoning starpower that prompted the move. Streaming data has proven Netflix's gamble a savvy one, and fans won't have to wait in limbo for the fate of their favorite new sitcom. Now, Tires is set to premiere its second season on June 5, 2025.

The Crew Of Valley Forge Auto Will Return
Because the show relies heavily on chemistry between its lead characters, the cast of Tires season 2 will look a lot like season 1. Shane Gillis and co-creator Steve Gerben are returning as Shane and Will, respectively, and it is Shane's unrelenting bullying that makes the show so hilarious. The rest of the Valley Forge Auto crew will be back as well, and it's been confirmed that season 2 will feature a slew of guest stars. Vince Vaughn (Bad Monkey), Jon Lovitz (SNL), Ron White (Blue Collar Comedy Tour), Veronika Slowikowska (EXmas), and Steph Tolev (Old Dads) will all appear.
The cast of Tires has grown a bit in the meantime as well, and TV legend Thomas Haden Church (Twisted Metal, Sideways) ed the show. According to Variety, Church will appear as Phil, Shane's father, who is just as much a bully as his son. Phil is described as a wealthy business owner and misanthrope who lives in Florida. It's unclear how he'll fit into the Valley Forge Auto dynamic, but two bullies are sure to make for an explosive environment.

The ending of season 1 of Tires was both stressful and hopeful, and though Will hadn't fully proven his father wrong, he certainly impressed his doubtful dad by actually concocting a sales plan that worked. Emboldened by their success at the end of season 1, Will and Shane will certainly cook up a new scheme that shortcuts hard work in order to save the shop.

As for Shane, he clearly grew a lot across season 1, and his quest for maturity will also likely continue in the sophomore outing as well. Though he'll probably never grow up completely, he came to the defense of his cousin in the season 1 finale and the showed he had learned a bit. When Tires season 2 does finally arrive, it will introduce some new complication to vex Shane, Will, and the rest of the crew.

In order to the show's second season, Netflix dropped a short teaser for Tires in late 2024. Playing out like a full scene instead of in trailer format, the clip reveals that NFL player J.J. Watt has come to Valley Forge Auto to record a commercial. Unfortunately, Shane and Watt have a past, and the antagonizer can't help but pick at old wounds with the footballer. This causes Watt to storm out without filming his commercial, but he still demands to be paid his fee.
