SYFY's newest series The Ark is back with a new episode tonight, and Screen Rant is pleased to present an exclusive clip highlighting the dynamic between Sharon Garnet and Spencer Lane. The series was created by Stargate SG-1's Jonathan Glassner and Dean Devlin, who may be best known for Independence Day but also produced recent classics such as Leverage: Redemption.
Set 100 years in the future, The Ark follows a crew on a deep space mission meant to colonize another planet. But when said crew wake from cryo-sleep a touch too early, they realize their ship is coming apart at the seams, and it's up to them to set things straight. The science fiction series stars Christie Burke (Maid), Richard Fleeshman, Reece Ritchie (who was part of Devlin's previous show The Outpost), Stacey Read, and Ryan Adams — in addition to a stellar ensemble cast.
More About SYFY's The Ark
In Screen Rant's exclusive clip from episode 6 of The Ark, Sharon and Spencer are having a tentative drink in her room. While he wonders out loud why she would want to spend any time with him after he spilled her secrets and called a vote to oust her from power, she assures him that it was just what she needed. Sharon is glad there are no more secrets between them so that he can complement her as her number two, but Spencer's lingering silence suggests there may be more to him than meets the eye.
The Ark season 1, episode 6 is called "Two by Two," which is an eerily fitting title. The official synopsis for the episode explains that, "After identifying a planet rich in much-needed fuel, the crew devises a plan to whip around a nearby star to reach it, but things don't go according to plan." Whatever may go awry in their attempts to grab the fuel, a stable sense of trust between the acting captain and her second in command will be paramount.
While The Ark is the only show currently airing on SYFY, the channel has several other fascinating series that have amassed loyal fanbases, including the Tim Rozon-led paranormal series SurrealEstate. Chucky, which serves as a sequel to 2017's Cult of Chucky, is returning for season 3 in the Fall. Reginald the Vampire, starring Spider-Man: No Way Home's Jacob Batalon, was also recently renewed for season 2.
New episodes of The Ark air Wednesdays at 10/9c on SYFY.
