The viral word game Wordle are simple: players must guess what the five-letter word is by using the letters' position as clues within six tries. Players know if they guessed correctly depending on the colors highlighted: green highlighted letters are correct, yellow highlighted letters are correct but in the wrong place, and gray highlighted letters are not in the answer.

As more and more players posted their results to Twitter, other Twitter s made memes based on the craze. Even companies ed in on the fun. For example, developer Bandai Namco used its official Twitter to post a block pattern that resembled Pac-Man. Along with the post, Bandai Namco refers to Pac-Man 99, the newest installment in the Pac-Man video game series. The yellow and dark gray tiles lend themselves to the pixelated protagonist of past games, so it's no surprise that Bandai Namco used Pac-Man to make a Wordle meme.

Now the Wordle memes continue with one of the most popular ones referencing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. A fan that goes by the name Everyone's Favourite Jim on Twitter posted a Wordle meme depicting the four superheroes. Instead of the green, yellow, and gray color scheme, Everyone's Favourite Jim used the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' signature red, blue, purple, and orange colors in addition to Wordle's green and yellow. Along with the Wordle meme, the fan posted, "Teenage Mutant Ninja Wordles" in the franchise's signature font.

Perhaps the reason why Everyone's Favourite Jim's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Wordle meme works so well is similar to the reason why the Pac-Man Wordle meme works. The combination of the simple signature colors of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are attached with the franchise's characters. Because of this, even if they're represented in Wordle's simple boxes, it's clear that the meme references Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. And in case one of Everyone's Favourite Jim's followers were unsure what the joke was, the photoshopped caption should be an obvious clue.

As the Wordle craze continues, fans will most likely continue to make Wordle memes. Players of the word game and fans alike should keep an eye out to see what creative patterns can be made in the game's signature grid.
