  • Had this been the end of the Michael Bay-helmed Transformers series, I would say the series ended on a high note, even with behind-the-scenes fallout and a preceding film that is incredibly flawed. While his arc with Michaela was rewritten following Fox's exit, I feel this was a good culmination of Sam's journey, his involvement in the fight feels more personal for both his connection to his Autobot allies, Nest, and Carly, he has been in this fight for so long that there's little hesitation at getting involved. I also feel the Decepticons are even more terrifying than they were in the first movie after they kind of lost their edge in the second. The weak elements are definitely the Autobots themselves, who feel like the least fascinating faction with only Optimus and Bee getting the focus, especially after certain characters get brutal on-screen deaths, but overaall, it is a good ending.
