Across the Spider-Verse is just as amazing as the first movie, from story beats to the animation. This film feels like sort of a parallel to the first, where the multiverse comes to Miles in Into the Spider-Verse and this time, he goes to the multiverse. It could've been easy for the film to feel too crowded with all of the variants that they wanted to show off, but the Spider Society scenes included just the right amount of subtle references that don't feel too gimmicky. It was beautiful to see Miles comfortable in his hero persona knowing how much he went through in the first movie to get to this point. I usually get annoyed with films that are split into two parts, but the cliffhanger of Across the Spider-Verse was put in a good place.

How do you follow up one of the best American animated films of the last decade? You make another fantastic animated movie. Loses half a star for being half a story, but the movie built on Gwen and Miles in realistic, important ways, watching them grow and looping in the multiverse for fun. A much better outing than Spiders-Man: No Way Home, which was basically Easter Eggs and Cameos: the Movie.

Across the Spider-Verse is a strong follow-up. It carries over what worked, but also set out to directly challenge the original movie, which focused on the positives of being Spidey. Instead, Across the Spiderverse not only tackles the cost of heroism, but the art of storytelling itself through "Canon events". Is tragedy necessary for motivations, is what we learn from it truly worth it? Pair this with the hard work of underappreciated animators, and you have a good opening act to a two-part epic.

I don't love Across the Spider-Verse as much as Into the Spider-Verse, but the former is still incredible. Once again, the animation style and visuals are top-notch. The movie has an intense emotional arc for all the characters involved. The scope of the story is much bigger, impacting the entire multiverse. While the ending is a cliffhanger, it perfectly builds anticipation for the next movie.

Think I like this one even more than the first one. Pushes the limits of what's possible even further this time around and I think the emotion core of the movie is a bit stronger in this one. The talk Miles had with his mom is really touching. Just wish that it didn't end of such an insane cliffhanger.

Following up an amazing film like Spider-Man Into the Spider-Verse was always going to be a huge task, but somehow Across: the Spider-Verse managed to exceed expectations. Improving upon the already gorgeous animation and returning with a new, yet equally stunning soundtrack, the sequel continued the story of Miles Morales and his journey as a hero. While the story is a little less focused than the original due to being the first of a two-part story, the film is still eye-catching, memorable, and a modern classic. The new characters quickly make an impression, and the Spot manages to be even more menacing than Kingpin despite being introduced as a bit of a joke. The intense climax sets up a fantastic next installment, and despite criticisms of the story feeling incomplete, Across the Spider-Verse nails what it set out to achieve and delivers another phenomenal piece of cinema.

I thought Into The Spider-Verse was my favorite Spider-Man movie, but then I saw this. I didn't think it was possible for this movie to impress me as much as the first given that I had already seen the art style and gotten to know the characters, so the initial shock wouldn't be there, but MAN was I wrong. I LOVED Across The Spider-Verse. The team working on this knows how to up their game all around. The soundtrack, art, and story are all even better and that is an almost unbelievable feat. I cannot wait to see what they'll do with the third film, but this has the potential to be the greatest Spider-Man trilogy that exists.

I enjoyed Across the Spiderverse even more than the first movie, and usually sequels don't sur the original, but in this case, it does! Everything from the animation and the character development to the soundtrack and the dialogue is phenomenal, truly no notes. I have watched this movie so many times, I saw it in theaters 3 times, and I know I'll definitely watch it about a million more.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse takes everything great about the first film's writing and visuals and makes them even bigger for a story that somehow tops itself at every turn. The only thing bringing it down is how much it's clearly structured like the first part of a two-part film, but even that barely keeps it from being another winner for one of the best entries into the Spider-Man franchise.

Suring expectations on animation and storytelling, Across the Spider-Verse has colorful new characters and a great cliffhanger.

I thought Across the Spider-Verse did a noble job following up a fantastic first piece. It does suffer from being more of a “part 1” than a standalone film, which leads to a frustrating conclusion to some extent. But visually fantastic again and has a strong script.

This is definitely the worst film I have ever seen.
