Face/Off is home to several of the most ridiculously over-the-top and genuinely indelible moments of the late 1990s. John Travolta and Nicolas Cage deliver great performances, each having a lasting impact while playing the other guy following a plot twist involving face-switching. Career-defining for Travolta as the arch-villain Castor Troy and mesmerizing for Cage as the crazed vigilante FBI agent Sean Archer—these are two reasons the film still glows almost two decades later.

Every time I need to wash my face or remove make-up, I think of Nic Cage in this movie saying, "I want to take his face. Off." A ludicrous plot for an action film, and Travolta and Cage do great jobs pretending to be each other pretending to be each other. Nobody does it like John Woo, and I can't wait for the bland remake of this in 5 years starring Glen Powell or something.
