Return of the Jedi, and she played a part in each film in the new trilogy.

As part of the animation series "Star Wars Galaxy of Adventures," Leia's journey through the films has been brought to life in a beautiful animation. The short video, posted by Star Wars Kids, highlights some of Leia's most memorable moments from the reboot trilogy while still flashing back to the original films. It also includes actual dialogue from the movies. Check it out below:

Between the dialogue from the film and John Williams' iconic score, it's hard not to get a little emotional while watching Leia's journey unfold. The animation doesn't delve much into The Rise of Skywalker (likely for good reason, considering what happens to her in it), but it does show her watching Rey as she trains. Leia's role as a mentor to Rey is one of the reasons Rey opts to take the Skywalker name at the end of The Rise of Skywalker, a decision that was met with mixed reactions from fans.

While Leia's story in the films has been brought to an end, the character will surely live forever in the hearts of fans. It's hard to deny the impact Leia has had on pop culture, and while it's unfortunate that her story in The Rise of Skywalker had to be cut short, at least she was given a proper ending on screen. For however long Star Wars continues, Leia will surely be missed.
