Galaxy's Edge at Disneyland has a secret connection to Star Wars-themed land. Set on the Outer Rim world of Batuu, Galaxy's Edge is an immersive land that really makes you feel like you've traveled to a galaxy far, far away. However, I recently discovered a very surprising Easter egg I'd never seen before, one that has direct connections to next year's Ahsoka season 2.

In Ahsoka season 1, Grand iral Thrawn makes it back to the known Star Wars after nearly a decade in exile on the extragalactic world of Peridea (and Ezra Bridger). This was largely accomplished with the help of Morgan Elsbeth and the Great Mothers, a trio of Nightsister elders who also sought age to the known galaxy (along with several presumed Nightsister corpses from their crypts). Considering the Nightsisters' established Force powers to raise the undead, I recently found an exciting connection to the Force witches and their future in Ahsoka season 2 within Galaxy's Edge.

Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge Has A Secret Connection To Ahsoka's Undead Nightsisters

Found in Savi's Workshop

Nightsister Crate in Galaxy's Edge

Galaxy's Edge is full of exciting Easter eggs and references, though some are harder to find than others. This includes the interior of Savi's Workshop, a place guests can only visit if they've signed up and paid to construct their very own lightsaber. Having already done so when the land first opened, I took some extra time this year during Disney's Star Wars Nites to look around Savi's while a family member built their own "weapon for a civilized age".

There are some exciting elements in the workshop, like an Imperial kyber crystal containment unit first seen in Rogue One. However, the workshop is also full of various pieces of "contraband" that the Gatherers would like to keep hidden from the First Order. Notably, I was very surprised to find that the crate right behind me featured the face of an unread Nightsister printed on the outside.

Translated from the Star Wars alphabet, Aurebesh, the outside of this crate reads: "Dead Inside", "Do Not Disturb", and "Dathomir". When I asked one of the Gatherers about the corpse, they would neither confirm nor deny whether the corpse was fully dead, though they did say the crate sometimes moves. Of course, this hints at the corpse indeed being undead, not unlike the Nightsister zombies in Clone Wars and Fallen Order, Thrawn's Night Troopers brought back to life using the same dark magicks, and the legions of teased corpses presumably primed for reanimation in Ahsoka season 2 now that they've been bought to Dathomir.

Galaxy's Edge Is Shifting More Towards The New Republic

Will We Soon See Even More Ahsoka Connections?

The existence of a Nightsister corpse in Galaxy's Edge connects to more than just Ahsoka alone. However, its significance is worth noting, considering where the Star Wars-themed land is seemingly headed in the near future overall. Despite being originally set solely between The Last Jedi and Rise of Skywalker, Galaxy's Edge has recently welcomed various New Republic elements and characters as well, including Din Djarin and Grogu, Ahsoka, Boba Fett, Fennec Shand, and even the New Republic Era's Luke Skywalker, who was just introduced this year.

All of these new additions speak to the fact that Disney has gradually been shifting Galaxy's Edge to the New Republic. Likewise, 2026 is set to give Smuggler's Run a Mandalorian & Grogu makeover, meaning Galaxy's Edge will have one sequel ride with Rise of the Resistance and one New Republic ride, firmly planting the land between the two eras. Keeping that in mind, I wouldn't be surprised if we end up seeing more connections to Peridea and the Nightsisters beyond this single crate and to the Ahsoka show overall, especially with the second season on the way.

Ahsoka season 2 is set to release sometime in 2026.
