Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season 2, episode 3, "Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow," introduced the first Denobulan in live-action since Dr. Phlox (John Billingsley) in Star Trek: Enterprise. Strange New Worlds is set about a hundred years after the pioneering voyages of Captain Jonathan Archer (Scott Baklula) and the NX-01 Enterprise, the first Starfleet ship capable of Warp 5 and deep space exploration. Strange New Worlds season 2 establishes that another Denobulan has made it aboard the USS Enterprise, the flagship of the United Federation of Planets.

Twitter Jörg Hillebrand @gaghyogi49 cited that Star Trek: Strange New Worlds introduced the first Denobulan in the 23rd century and in live-action since Dr. Phlox on Star Trek: Enterprise. Credited as Denobulan Cadet and played by Sean Melorum, he blames Chief Jay (Noah Lamanna) and the transporter for stealing a ring. Caught in the middle of their dispute is Security Chief Lt. La'an Noonien-Singh (Christina Chong). See the Tweet below:

Will Star Trek: Enterprise Characters Appear In Strange New Worlds?

Fans have been clamoring for cameos or appearances from Star Trek: Enterprise characters since Strange New Worlds was announced. Since Captain Christopher Pike's (Anson Mount) five-year mission is only a century after Captain Archer's voyages, a few Star Trek: Enterprise characters could conceivably still be alive. Enterprise's resident Vulcan T'Pol (Jolene Blalock) could potentially meet Lt. Spock (Ethan Peck). But Denobulans are also known to be a long-lived species, and Dr. Phlox could also appear in Strange New Worlds. It's also possible an elderly Jonathan Archer may still be alive in 2259 after serving as the first Federation President.

Denobulans have appeared in the animated series Star Trek: Lower Decks and Star Trek: Prodigy. In the latter series, a Denobulan Starfleet Lieutenant named Barniss Frex (Eric Bauza) was manning a Federation relay station in the Delta Quadrant when he encountered the young crew of the USS Protostar. Barniss Frex was the most prominent Denobulan character since Dr. Phlox on Star Trek: Enterprise, but it's possible the Denobulan Cadet in Star Trek: Strange New Worlds could eventually have a bigger role in season 2 or season 3.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season 2 streams Thursdays on Paramount+.
