Spider-Gwen: Gwenverse - by Tim Seeley, Jodi Nishijima, and Federico Blee - is a miniseries that promises to give Spider-Gwen her own Spiderverse saga. On Earth-65, Gwen Stacy is bitten by a radioactive spider and, after acquiring amazing powers, sees her boyfriend Peter Parker die in front of her eyes, in a reversal of one of the most tragic classic Spider-Man stories. During the Spiderverse event, Gwen learned of the Multiverse and acquired an item called the Ticket to the Multiverse that allows her to travel between her homeworld and Marvel's core reality, Earth-616. However, due to the machinations of a new villain, Finale, Gwen's connection to the Multiverse creates divergent identities of the girl, who are responsible for dangerous alterations of the realities. In the process, Finale's origins and motivations reveal the dark future in store for the Marvel Multiverse.

Finale is the last artist in existence many years in the future, in what she calls "the end of all time." She reveals that a series of catastrophic events have caused the collapse of the space-time continuum. Reality soon will not have any future, as linear progress is destroyed. What is most interesting is the revelation of what causes this state of things. Finale mentions "too much Multiversal travel," which could be a sly reference from the authors to the fact that the Multiverse is literally everywhere in Marvel stories nowadays. She then mentions the chronowars, the timeline overwrites, and the collapse of the Time Variance Authority, the organization tasked with maintaining the stability of the space-time continuum. None of these events has yet happened in the Marvel continuity, so Finale's speech could be a very cool sneak peek into future storylines waiting to happen.

All these events seem catastrophic enough on their own, and they are probably connected to one big time war that will endanger the future of the Marvel Multiverse. Recently, the time traveler Kang the Conqueror resurfaced and he could have a prominent role in protecting or destroying the many timelines that converge into Marvel's "prime timeline." Spider-Gwen's adventure in the Multiverse will surely put her in Finale's path, which means that readers will soon learn more about the catastrophic time wars that threaten to end the Marvel Multiverse once and for all.
