Sony’s directed by Bob Persichetti, Peter Ramsey and Rodney Rothman. It will serve as the theatrical debut of Miles Morales, an alternate version of Spider-Man. Notably, the movie is not part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, despite Spider-Man's current live-action MCU stint.

In the film, Miles is learning how to balance his double life as a superhero and high school student when he runs into an adult Peter Parker. Peter, recognizing that Miles shares his powers, takes the boy under his wing and reluctantly decides to teach him how to be Spider-Man. As one might imagine, the movie will introduce the Spider-Verse, where more than one Spider-Man exists. The trailer already confirmed that Spider-Gwen will play a role in the film as well.

As mentioned above, Cage looks set to voice Spider-Man Noir in Spider-Verse, according to a report by Teen Titans Go! to the Movies, set to be released later this month. Other voice actors confirmed for the film so far include Pitch Perfect star Hailee Steinfeld as Spider-Gwen, New Girl’s Jake Johnson as Peter Parker, and actor/rapper Shamiek Moore as Miles Morales.

Spider-Man Noir

Spider-Man Noir shares the secret identity of Peter Parker. However, his world is set in the 1933 Great Depression, which is part of the Marvel Noir universe. This incarnation of Spider-Man received his powers after being bitten by a spider released from a mysterious statue. He made an appearance in the 2012 animated series Ultimate Spider-Man during the Spider-Verse arc. Miles also made an appearance in the same series, and in the 2017 Spider-Man cartoon. Both aired on Disney XD. Thus, it makes sense to include him in the movie. Those who've viewed those series will recognize him, and Noir is just different enough from Spider-Man's other incarnations to really stand out within the Spider-Verse landscape. However, since the film intends to bring together as many Spider-Man variants as it possibly can, Noir might not have a large role in the plot.

As far as casting goes, success of Into the Spider-Verse's first trailer, which garnered 44 million views in three days.
