Marvel confirms the full cast list for Simu Liu as the titular hero, who in the comics is known as the Master of Kung Fu. Originally, Shang-Chi was scheduled for release in February 2021, but premiere date shuffles caused by the coronavirus pandemic bumped it around. The film is currently slated to debut on July 9, 2021, making it the second film within Marvel's Phase 4 slate (and the fifth project overall).

Production on Shang-Chi took place this year, yet much of the film remains a mystery. For some time, the only cast to be confirmed by Marvel were Liu, Tony Leung as comics villain the Mandarin, and Awkwafina in an undisclosed role. ing players were largely kept secret, though reports emerged in January that Michelle Yeoh was in talks, and end of production on Shang-Chi, things about the cast remained hush hush.

Finally, though, Marvel has confirmed Shang-Chi's ing players, as well as the characters they will be playing. Once again, Liu will be playing Shang-Chi, while Leung's Mandarin will evidently be named Wenwu. Awkwafina's mysterious character is named Katy. New and finally confirmed additions to the ensemble include Meng'er Zhang as Xialing, Yeoh as Jiang Nan, Chieng as Jon Jon, Fala Chen as Jiang Li, and Florian Munteanu as Razor Fist. The official announcement can be seen down below.

Beyond their names, Marvel didn't reveal much about the characters found within Shang-Chi. At first glance, the only character who looks to come straight from the comics is Munteanu's Razor Fist, a Shang-Chi villain. It remains to be seen which iteration of Razor Fist Munteanu will play, though it looks like he could be poised to team up with the Mandarin to defeat Shang-Chi. With plot details still being kept tightly under wraps, everything is up for speculation at this point.

With Yeoh's Shang-Chi role, she becomes the latest performer to take on two different roles within the MCU. Previously, she appeared as Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Aleta was a fun cameo, though it looks like Jiang Nan will offer a larger role for Yeoh this time around. It will certainly be exciting to see this cast come to life in Shang-Chi next year, and hopefully Marvel will reveal some plot details soon so fans get a better idea of what to expect from this eagerly anticipated film.
