The premiere date for Netflix's The Punisher is still a mystery for the time being, though a newly-released motion poster (featuring Jon Berthal as Frank Castle) invites fans to look in-between the lines for clues about the series' launch date.

After what felt like a long period of silence in dedication of Netflix promoting rumors and leads were debunked, we still don't know when Bernthal's solo series will be coming out.

To continue to promote the air of mystery surrounding the premiere date, the Daredevil season 2.  Though on multiple views, it appears there's more to the poster, as the moving images teases that the "truth must be taken" in this case.

Looking closer at the image, words flash for milliseconds that may give context to both the subject material of the series and when exactly the show will premiere on Netflix. The words "corruption" and "loyalty" flash by quickly right next to a military seal before the main tagline comes onto the screen permanently, hinting at how the plot of the series will deal with Castle's complicated military past head on. A little harder to decrypt in the poster is the redacted premiere date at the bottom, as there is some blurring and flashing graphics work at the bottom. One keen eye commenting on the tweets believes that they see the numbers 10 and 20 pop onto the screen briefly, which would seem to indicate that the show will premiere in the middle of next month on October 20th, and the Punisher Twtter  even responded to this theory with a less-than-direct response:

You sure about that, pal? Bad intel can bite you in the ass.— The Punisher (@ThePunisher) September 29, 2017

That joking tough-guy response is certainly not a confirmation, but it's not necessarily a denial either. Therefore, it could be possible that the series premieres on October 20th, but it seems doubtful that Netflix will give a straightforward response anytime soon either. Plenty of rumored release dates have been debunked, and it wouldn't be surprising if the show is just dropped on Netflix in an attempt to surprise viewers. Alternatively, the date may be revealed at long last during next week's New York Comic Con festivities.
