To be honest, despite me being a straight, cisgender male, I was enamored by the exploits of Sailor Moon and (in the DIC dub) the Sailor Scouts. In fact, it was the following three series that introduced me to anime in the first place: Pokémon, Cardcaptor Sakura (more specifically the horribly done Nelvanna dub), and Sailor Moon (DIC dub). All in that order.

And, I will be honest with you all: when I was a young boy, I had a crush on two of the Sailor Scouts: Sailor Mercury and Sailor Saturn.

Mercury because of knowledge, and if a certain old Disney animated TV series taught us anything, it's that "Knowledge Is Power".

In regards to Saturn, it started out as sympathy for her situation as an outcast at Mugen Academy, and as her and Rini / Chibi-Usa's story progressed, that sympathy grew into a crush.
