You are talking about Tolkien as he was an expert writer who knew about show-don't-tell. That's hilarious.
Tolkien had major difficulty getting published because of the massive amount of exposition in his books. He wasn't venerated by his peers until years after LotR was released, specifically because of his inability to understand show-don't-tell. It was only when his works were being lapped up by readers that his peers began to alter their opinions of him.
It also funny that you started your comment with a line that would have received a C- in English Lit, and it was to denigrate someone else's writing.
