Leslie Winkle is a strong independent woman (cougar?) that I think could easily keep Barry Kripke in line (whipped). The crossover from Howard would not be perfect but would the audience really want another starter Walowitz. Sarah Gilbert's character is already firmly established by her personality. Between Leslie and Barry, all the attributes that are being looked for are available.
