Logan
7/10

Well, this movie was just okay. Being a big superhero fan, I had high expectations from Logan, but neither was it a standout for me within the X-Men film series. The plot seemed to me quite forward and straightforward, with events unfolding before my very eyes without surprise. I was expecting more from the movie for situations that are not predicted. Given there were some exciting scenes, I felt the plot could be far more multilayered and unexpected.

Bullet Train
8/10

Released as a bit of a mixed bag at the time, Bullet Train has since grown a massive cult following over the years. Starring a stylish, full-of-action story from director David Leitch, the man who brought us John Wick and Deadpool 2, Bullet Train is a type of high-octane trip that doesn't appeal to very many people, but those it does appeal to, it actually does really enjoy this kind of thing.

Labyrinth
9/10

The energy in Labyrinth is electric, and David Bowie exudes one of his most exquisite performances. For most, it might be a celebration of the fantastic world, but to me, it is a deep story about a girl's journey toward maturity and self-realization. The performance of Jennifer Connelly as Sarah is spellbinding as she guides us through a labyrinth of trials which reflect her psyche.

The Wolf of Wall Street
7/10

I did not enjoy The Wolf of Wall Street. It felt excessive and suffered from the same problem most of Martin Scorsese's recent films do: it lacks any heart, charm, soul, or anything else that would differentiate it from every other generic movie about excess and greed.

Jack Reacher
8/10

Reacher took a beloved character from Lee Child's novels and gave him a worthy adaptation. Jack Reacher deserved for this show to have multiple seasons and a movie, and to explore all the intriguing storylines from the books. Sadly, Amazon cancelled it after only one season.

Agent Carter
7/10

I guess that I am just not much of a spy drama fan without a strong overarching plot. Agent Carter is stylish to look at and I love the period details, but I found myself bored out of my mind a handful of times during the series. Never watched the second season.

Killer Joe
6/10

I did not enjoy Killer Joe after rewatching it. It felt bland and suffered from the same problem most of William Friedkin's recent films do: it lacks any heart, charm, soul, or anything else that would differentiate it from every other generic thriller. The dark humor and shock value felt forced, and the characters were too unlikable to care about.

The Blacklist
8/10

I was completely blown away by The Blacklist, given that it's a total adrenaline-filled show across 10 seasons. Of course, at times the story does get a little bit predictable, but on-site outstanding performances and action-filled plot twists make up for it great.
