No. The Steam port is based on the polygonal DS version. The PSP version is gloriously pixelicious and isn't available in any other platform. It is truly the perfect way to redo the older Final Fantasy titles. The pixel remakes aren't bad, but they're not modernized. Final Fantasy IV: The Complete Collection (as it's officially called) is completely redrawn and absolutely beautiful while retaining the classic gameplay.

Did nobody else play the PSP remake of FF IV? That's the template they need to follow. It's so much more beautiful than the Pixel Remakes with huge, detailed sprites and a natural 16:9 aspect ratio. I'd argue it's even more attractive than the 2D-HD games.

Square Enix, just fire up that PSP remake and give us more of that!

I am cautiously optimistic. Sunrise doesn't seem like the right choice for Macross IMO, but I could be wrong. I also don't know if Kawamori is doing the mechanical design. That's the key right there. Hard to tell if another designer could create some convincing new Valks.
