I feel like we're inventing another milestone here. $80 million? That's rather arbitrary. This is almost as bad as the story that heralded this film's crossing into the heretofore-insignificant "40 Highest Grossing Musicals of All Time" list. Again, nothing significant about the number 40 but when Snow White hit #38, we had to crow about it. With any luck at all, it'll cross into the rarefied "$85 Million Milestone" next weekend and we can read another story about it. Here's hoping.

"Top 40 Highest Grossing Musicals" seems like a contrived list. I didn't see it and I don't plan to see it because I'm a 50-something male with grown children. However, as a fan of pop culture and an unwilling participant in America's current political turmoil, it's been interesting to watch both sides spin this thing. "#38 Highest Grossing Musical" is definitely an interesting spin. I'm assuming we can expect another article heralding Snow White's entrance into the uber-exclusive "Top 35 Highest Grossing Musicals" list if and when it gets there.
