See AllDragon Ball Daima Was Akira Toriyama's Last Gift to Us, But Sadly, That's Why Fans Don't Understand the Anime
I ed from various sources, that Toriyama wanted to clear-up alot of loose ends in his anime vs manga. Diama allowed him to tell the story from a perspective that has not been shown before and rewrite the franchise for a newer generation while respecting what the older generations knew of the DB franchise and bringing forth the best parts of all the franchise had to offer. Dragon Ball Heroes showed (while animated) that there were a lot non canon parts that are popular...now they are canon thanks to Diama and given a connection to the lore of DB. Diama was the new start, a breath freshness in a franchise that started everything for anime. Literally Toriyama open the West to anime with the Dragon Ball franchise in the manga and certainly the anime. His greatness will be missed.
