Im sure it not as simple as "Hey your the sole creator of DBS now". It's only been a year and we as fans have little knowledge of legal and publishing affairs. On top of the Toyotaro needs to find the direction he wants to take it while remaining true to Akira and fans. It's going to return but it might take a few years. In the meantime the franchise still makes money so anything prolonging the life of the franchise is a win.

Because Daima is non canon trash. I know technically its canon but I refuse to acknowledge it. It was risky to develop a new series that happens between timelines in the first place when they could of done something more relevant and doesn't create a million plot holes. Big difference between foreshadowing and creating a new story by connecting the dots. You can't call it foreshadowing when it wasn't even created by the same person. For example Oda is a master at foreshadowing in One Piece years before the story unfolds but Toyotaro just expanded off existing concepts. No hate on Toyotaro but that's not foreshadowing.

If star wars has taught me anything its not who does it first but who does it best. I George Lucas case it was watering down and stealing one of the best sci-fi stories ever written and turning it into cinematic pandering cash cow.
