Because a lot of people seem very confused: at this point in the story April is an old lady and a resistance fighter. The woman in purple is April and Casey Jones' daughter Casey Marie Jones. The reason they both look so buff is explained as low level mutagen radiation from being around mutants all the time. The turtles shown are Casey Marie's students and there's been some 30-40 years gone by since the story has begun.

I ended up being happier with the fight against the rules than I thought I would be. It started to look like they were going to rush through them, then it looked like they were just going to be absorbed by Sun, but it ended up being a more satisfying battle.

It's strange, though. Usually when prominent SJ manga start to wrap up we get an announcement ahead of time, "5 more chapters remaining!" "Manga concludes in 8 weeks!" "Manga reaches final arc!" That sort of thing. It's very unlike them to just spring an ending on us like that. The latest issue implies there's a power greater than Sun and Luna and also creating new memories. Feels like just the arc has reached its climax and there might be more coming. I have no idea what that could be, if anything, but this series hasn't let me down yet.
