Why Andor Season 3 Isn't Happening: Tony Gilroy's Five-Season Plan Explained
And this is why Kathleen Kennedy needs to be replaced. How do you green light a 5 season show and don't demand at the writer provide a synopsis or a plan for the five seasons. Then she lets him spend $650 million on two seasons of. the most boring Star Wars project ever. Surely the seasons could have been done for far less. All the while the other Star Wars shows were given far less episodes and far less money to complete their episodes.
In addition Tony Gilroy should be embarrassed to tell this story. He took this job knowing that it was for five seasons and before saying yes did not spend the time plotting out the seasons so he could fulfill the contract. In addition, he spent way too much money on Andor and no one outside of hardcore Star Wars fans are watching it.
"If It Was A Male Director It Would Be A Nonstory": Christian Bale & Maggie Gyllenhaal's $100M Frankenstein Movie Budget Defended By Warner Bros. Exec
Unfortunately this doesn't have anything to do with sexism and everything to do with the current state of the movie industry. Warner Brothers is in a precarious financial position, theater attendance is down, the movie isn't commercial so it'll be hard for it to find an audience, and Hollywood's movie budgets have come under scrutiny in the recent years due to the multiple flops by major studios.
Abdy should have paid closer attention to what happened with the Acolyte and Snow White. They came out swinging hard against perceived sexism and their projects did not do well. Hopefully her ill-advised statements don't hurt the movie when it comes out in 2026.
"There's Nothing We're Bringing In For Fun": Andor's Showrunner Reveals Our Chances For More Rogue One Cameos In Season 2
His attitude is why the first season was a flop. It'll be the same reason why the season 2 will flop as well.
These creators have to learn how to do what they want to do within the confines of the IP that satisfies themselves, new fans, and older fans alike.
Sorry, Marvel: Wonder Woman Just Snagged the Top Spot as Best-Selling Comic
I don't know. The fact that Wonder woman could barely outsell the ultimate Spider-Man comic book which has been on the shelves for 14 months or so is troubling. It's more troubling that neither Absolute Batman or absolute Superman are in the top 10 overall. This means that after the first issue sales explosion DC fans aren't adding these comics to their pull list and non-dc fans aren't connecting with this absolute universe. Marvel doesn't have to worry. It appears that outside of hardcore DC fanbsse, this universe is DOA.
Hitting number one is great but the best gauge of a series success is whether they can maintain their sales momentum over time. Currently it doesn't look like this is happening.
DC Just Broke A Major Superman Rule For The First Time In 85 Years
I still got to watch the season but it's disappointing that they made Superman human. They're always trying to bring him down to our level. They probably could have made a Kryptonian heart from the technology in the fortress of solitude or as someone suggested take it from Bizarro. Still the 4 season run was a good run despite their overuse of Doomsday. DC's overuse of the character makes me wish it was never created.
If someone wants to bring him back they'll have to employ time travel to either get bizarro's heart or create a heart from the fortress technology so he doesn't die. Tyler Hochelin was a good Superman They should create another opportunity for him to play him again whether in a cartoon, video game, or even a TV movie.
