The most important part of an adaptation is starting strong. If you want to deviate from the original story, do it after season 1.

People will drop it the second you start to shove your own (often sexual) fantasies into it. Once that happens, they won't come back. And nobody starts watching a show with the promise of a decent 3rd season.

The sets were truly phenomenal, though.

Ah, here we go again with the fanfics. Book Snape was already more vile than Rickman's portrayal. This new guy is not going to add anything to the role but a racial undertone, which it certainly did not need.

The final season of Sherlock was not great, but as a whole it was still a good show. There's some true artistry in that show, showing creativity while staying true to the core concepts.

Elementary is just formulaic American identity politics slop. It's not as bad as typical fender bender remakes, but at best it's 5 or 6 out of 10. The kind of show you put on when you're doing something else.

It was just not a very good show. I enjoyed parts of it, but that's not enough for a budget like that.

These people think producing a GoT final season level show is enough, but the only reason people watched it is because they were invested in the show after a few seasons of great TV.

I don't understand why they think they can get away with not committing to making a good story. Hire mature and intelligent writers and you can print money.

While hogwarts legacy looked great, the story was absolutely abysmal and made zero sense.

Anyway, they're already blaming the fans for their bad product. It's going to be bad.
