Well.. I’m going to have to disagree on the races. About the only thing they got right. The book describes two rivers folk as dark skinned ( not black) with round faces and strong statures. I was like you and disagreed at first then I read the description of nineave and egwene and realized Rafe actually got that right.

Only benefit I have to say for the show is it’s causing many to read the books. Which I am happy for. But I got some sad news. Once you read the books you will spit on the show at how terrible they did. So read away and enjoy.

Estimated 70 million readers worldwide is not a small contingent. I haven’t met a single loyal reader who liked this show. Not one. They were trying to make it a mainstream show with very little effort or attention to the original story. I could have made a better series as a web series on you tube. And been completely fine. All you have to do is pick some scenes from the story and run with it. It wasn’t that hard. But rage felt it needed a bit of woke. He failed. Good.

There’s a very small contingent of viewers who love the show. I get it. Most haven’t even read a single page of the books. But this show caused them to go and read the books. That’s fine. You have the meat of the “story” albeit a bastardized version of it. To wet your pallet if that’s what you like. But I guarantee once you hit book 7 you will be cursing the name of Rafe at how horrible he did to this series.

Not watered down. Other than the names eliminated completely. Rafe never read the books. He was a progressive hack brought in to butcher the books and make a GOT clone that wasn’t even close.

The worst. And glad it’s gone. Rafe ruined what could have been a show bigger than GOT. It had enough content and plenty of storyline. But he changed it into some perverted version of GOT that sucked and needed to be blotted from the record books.

perhaps maybe another channel will buy the rights and make it what it’s supposed to be. It’s all we can hope for.
