Casino is an incredible film, and I understand what you mean about the final act, though the change in pacing in Goodfellas is what makes it work for me. That jarring insanity fits, I think. Casino certainly feels more "epic" and grand, but I can't deny the sheer joy I get watching every moment of Goodfellas.
