See AllWhich character in Fantastic Four are you most excited to see debut?
We're just about a month and half away from the release of Fantastic Four: First Steps. While I'm excited to see the entire First Family rebooted with an all-new take for the MCU, I think I'm most looking forward to Joseph Quinn's Human Torch. Chris Evans' Johnny was one of my first favorite movie superheroes, and I did like Michael B. Jordan's casting in the 2015 movie, so I'm curious to see how Quinn compares.
If Brave and the Bold has multiple villains like Superman, which foes do you want to see?
James Gunn's Superman is set to feature multiple villains and foes for the Man of Steel including Lex Luthor, Ultraman, The Engineer, and giant kaiju, and more. With that in mind, I'm wondering if the DCU's Brave and the Bold will have multiple Batman rogues as well. I'd love to see a Batman movie where Riddler, Two-Face, and Penguin were all working together.
Will the MCU reveal that Galactus isn't actually a villain?
As excited as I am to see Galactus in the MCU, I wonder if Fantastic Four: First Steps will reveal that he's not actually a traditional villain. Even comics as recent as this week have reiterated that Galactus is more like a necessary force of cosmic nature who's meant to consume worlds, eventually storing their energy at the end of the universe in order to create the next universe. His actions and world devouring aren't inherently sinister or vidictive. While that doens't mean he shouldn't be stopped from trying to consume Earth, I do wonder if the new MCU movie plans to depict this nuance...
How To Train Your Dragon's promos are starting to go too far...
I saw a How To Train Your Dragon promo on TV the other day that was literally just the climax of the entire final battle. Like I get that this is a remake, and that it's not exactly a spoiler, but isn't the whole point of the live-action remake is to show fans the movie in a new medium? Why spoil one of the most important scenes outside of the theatrical release? So weird.
What's your favorite Mario Kart World track?
Mario Kart World has some really fun new tracks. The open world is lot of fun, and I love how a lot of the courses have elements from past circuits in previous games. That said, I'm a really big fan of the Great ? Block Ruins, DK , the new Bowser's Castle, and of course, the latest iteration of Rainbow Road.
Okay, so what does Predator: Killer of Killers mean for the first Predator movie?
Obviously, the ending of Predator: Killer of Killers and its implications got me thinking about the rest of the franchise, specifically the first movie starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. I really do think the door is now open for Dutch to return, something that I think would be absolutely fantastic (especially if it meant he could potentially team-up with Amber Midthunder's Naru).

Once Upon A Time
Here's the thing about Once Upon a Time: it started SO strong with such a cool concept from the creators of Lost. To that end, the format of each episode has similar constructions with a core character focus, frequent flashbacks to their fairytale pasts and how they connect to their present, as well as some really cool twists and ongoing mysteries (there's also a TON of Lost Easter eggs and references, and even actors who starred in both series). As a lover of Lost, this was initially a great replacement show, though it eventually fell apart with each new season. The problem was that my character investment got so deep that I had to keep watching even as the show gradually devolved.

X-Men Days of Future Past
Easily one of the best X-Men movies. The opportunity to see both the original cast and younger casts of X-Men in the same movie is exceptional. While of course DOFP has its plot holes and continuity errors Fox's X-Men universe is infamously known for, it's still a pretty creative and in-universe way to reboot the X-Men franchise with a new generation of actors by using one of the most beloved X-Men stories from the original comics.

The Wolverine
The Wolverine has some of the coolest moments for Hugh Jackman's Logan. Primarily taking place in Japan, Wolverine's battle with the Yakuza on top of a bullet train is still one of my favorite superhero fight sequences of all time. While James Mangold rightfully gets a lot more credit for the masterpiece that was Logan, there's a lot to love from his first Wolverine movie as well, including Logan's struggle to let go of Jean Grey's death from The Last Stand.
Captain America: The Winter Soldier
One of my all-time favorite MCU movies. Winter Soldier takes great advantage of Steve Rogers' recent time displacement by having him operate in the modern world post-Avengers where the concepts of right and wrong have become far more ambiguous and compromised. This results in some incredible dynamics, especially following the movie's big reveal about SHIELD and Hydra. Winter Soldier definitely proved to Marvel Studios that playing with other genres (like a political/espionage thriller) can absolutely work in the MCU.

Logan
I truly believe Logan is one of the best comic book movies of all time. It doesn't rely on Easter eggs, major cameos, or a greater universe beyond its own existence. While all those have their place and can be exciting, it was truly refreshing and equally heartbreaking to simply see a beloved character in Hugh Jackman's Wolverine getting a final and deeply personal adventure after a long life of pain, rage, loss, and ultimately love at the very end of his story. (At the same time, was very happy with how Logan was integrated into DP&W as well).

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny
Dial of Destiny is a prime example of "good but not great". Indy 5 does what it set out to do: to give Harrison Ford's Dr. Jones a nice ending that's fulfilling and happy. There are some dynamic action sequences, including the WWII flashback which opens the movie, though the villain could have been much better as well as the overall plot could have been a little more nuanced and dimensional. That said, Indy 5 is much better than Crystal Skull, which feels like a win in and of itself.

Avengers: Age of Ultron
I've never understood why Age of Ultron gets such a bad rap. It's criminally underrated considering James Spader was the voice of Ultron, the Avengers were united and in their prime, amazing new heroes were introduced with Wanda, Pietro, and Vision, and there was even time for a Hulkbuster battle! The movie has some epic twists, and also serves as a key building block for the Infinity Saga's future. The only real problem was Ultron's apparent demise at the end, which felt like a massive waste of his potential.

Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens
I've still got a lot of love for The Force Awakens, even if it has somewhat been diminished in the light of the full sequel trilogy. Back in 2015, Force Awakens was full of exciting promise, and the movie itself is visually spectacular, particularly with the return of the Millennium Falcon which hadn't been seen on-screen in over 30 years. Harrison Ford's return and interactions with the new cast were perfect, as were the performances from Ridley, Boyega, and Isaac. It's just a shame that the sequels as a whole were executed so poorly, especially when The Force Awakens provided such a strong foundation.

See AllI just got infinitely more excited for Ryan Gosling's Star Wars movie with its new casting update.
It definitely adds to the hype! Excited to see what kind of character Mia Goth ends up playing. Across the board, this Star Wars movie is being cast like no other Star Wars movie has been cast before with some pretty big starpower for its leads!
Will you be playing Marvel's new fighting game?
Definitely planning on giving it a shot! I love the unique art style, and it should be go to see all the different play styles across characters (I was a pretty big fan of Marvel vs Capcom). That said, I'm also still holding out for Injustice 3!
Was James Gunn cutting a Guardians of the Galaxy member what made the MCU trilogy work?
Yeah, I think you're right. As much as I love Rider's Nova, it was probably for the best. That said, I do hope Nova is part of the next MCU saga, leading the cosmic side of things. It would be so cool, especially if he was tasked with rebuilding the Nova Corps after Thanos' off-screen Xandar attack.
I'm disappointed the Fantastic Four's most underrated character is likely not in their MCU debut.
Yeah, I don't see it happening until maybe a sequel. I definitely agree that Valeria is super underrated in the comics. I especially appreciate her unique relationship with Doctor Doom as her godfather.
I am so hyped for Guillermo del Toro's Frankenstein after that teaser trailer.
Agreed. Very excited for this one. Easily the best revealed from TUDUM. Love Oscar Isaac, and I think Jacob Elordi is going to be fascinating as Frankenstein's monster.
Should Star Wars show when Anakin's lightsaber became red in live-action?
100%. It was first done in the comics, and I'm excited to see the moment expanded in the new book. That said, it's such an iconic Darth Vader moment that has Anakin truly committing to the dark side. It absolutely deserves the live-action treatment.
