Mistborn either needs to be either a series with at least 2, minimum 10 episode season per book for the first trilogy just to give it space to breath and let the world building roll out properly. Otherwise maybe a Castlevania style US-Anime series is what I can imagine, but the lenght is still the same. Sanderson built a world where you can't show just parts of the world created. The base needs to be solid before they can build on it.
