I have never watched one single episode of Grey's Anatomy and don't intend to start now. Doctor Odyssey can be outrageous at times (those diagnoses!), but is always interesting and has a great cast and guest stars. Time to take Grey's Anatomy off the air anyway!

My understanding is that Robin Weigert was not "unceremoniously ditched" after season 1, but rather she wanted to leave the show, likely due to so little screen time for her character. I am sure she was interested in other acting opportunities.

I don't care for this particular storyline. I know the show has delved into serious issues in the past, but I think pursuing this story takes away from the comedic aspect of the show. And it is, first and foremost, a comedy.
