Tennant era: Rose had no job (9 blew it up), Martha not only returned to her job but she progressed to a full doctor who was high in the ranks of UNIT, Donna lost/quit her job after she was almost a Racnoss sacrifice. Whittaker era: Graham retired when he was diagnosed with cancer, Ryan was a warehouse worker who didn't care about losing it, Dan faked being a tour guide and volunteered at a foodbank (so no paid job) and Yaz most likely returned to her job after she stopped travelling with the Doctor. Also, Martha wasn't a nurse, she was a junior doctor at least. Unless nurses wear the long white lab coats too.

People are really still annoyed that TOTK wasn't a completely different game to BOTW despite it being a sequel. Do people complain that "Aliens" also used the Xenomorph? Are people mad at Christopher Nolan for setting his "Dark Knight trilogy" in Gotham City? Generally, no. Sequels are supposed to be similar but also slightly different. Unless it's meant to be absurd, but not even Deadpool does that.

I don't think Ncuti Gatwa is a bad actor, but his version of the Doctor hasn't been given the best stories. I really liked "The Devil's Chord", but that was mostly Jinkx Monsoon's performance. The rest of the last season, and last week's episode, were pretty weak.
