The Pokémon franchise is full of incredible and endearing creatures for players to collect, but many are also immensely dangerous. Countless Pokémon throughout the numerous games are incredibly powerful and capable of causing immense harm and destruction if not kept in check. Among all of these creatures, many of the snake-like monsters pose a particular threat to the residents of the Pokémon world.
Many of the snake-like Pokémon, in particular, might have cool designs, but they would not want to be encountered in the Pokémon world. While many of these creatures can be found in the forests, others can live in various environments, such as the sea, underground, or even a completely different dimension. Although many snake Pokémon exist across many games, some are clearly far more dangerous than others.
10 Huntail
A Dangerous Sea Serpent
This small sea-dwelling serpent-like Pokémon is one of the two possible evolutions for Clamperl. It is a Water-type Pokémon that can learn a wide variety of useful moves, many of which can easily overwhelm many opponents. Hydro Pump and Blizzard can deal immense damage, while moves like Dive allow it to hide underwater to find the perfect time to strike.

5 Pokémon Seasons Every Anime Fan Should Watch (And 5 to Avoid At All Costs)
Out of the more than 20 seasons in the Pokémon anime franchise, there are some that fans should definitely see, and others they should avoid.
Although Huntail may not be the strongest Pokémon to exist in the franchise, it still poses a danger to other creatures it comes across. It uses its fish-shaped tail to lure in unsuspecting prey before finally attacking and swallowing them whole. Even if its prey were to attempt hiding, Huntail's exceptional eyesight could still spot them in the dark waters, making them rather crafty and efficient hunters.
9 Seviper
A Snake With A Poisonous & Sharp Tail
Seviper is a very recognizable snake Pokémon from Generation 3. It is best known for its long-standing rivalry with Zangoose. According to the Pokédex, these feuds have often left many Sevipers covered in various scars, proof of just how unrelenting a fighter Seviper can be. However, even when not dealing with Zangoose, Seviper is still an incredibly dangerous creature for multiple reasons.

How to Find (& Catch) Seviper in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet
To craft the Poison Tail or Poison Jab TM recipes in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, Trainers must know how to find and catch the Fang Snake Seviper.
Not only is its pointed tail poisonous, but it's also described as being sword-like due to Seviper sharpening it on large rocks. Seviper is also known to wrap its body around its prey in order to trap them before poisoning them with its tail or fangs, so it's best to avoid getting caught by one. With how dangerous this venomous snake is, it's no wonder that Jesse from Team Rocket owned one while in Sinnoh.
8 Arbok
Paralyzing & Poisoning Foes Before Attacking
Another threatening snake Pokémon, Arbok, is similar to Seviper, though it has a few noticeable differences that make it more dangerous. It also has long, venomous fangs that can prove deadly to humans and Pokémon, so anyone who encounters one in the wild should steer clear.
When hunting, Arbok is able to immobilize its prey using the patterns on its body before eventually wrapping itself around it to crush it with its immense strength. The Pokédex explains that said grip is impossible to escape from and is so strong that it can even crush an oil drum. Considering the fact that Arbok is known to be unrelenting when chasing prey, it is unlikely that one would be able to escape once in Arbok's sights.
7 Onix
A Giant Serpent Made Of Rocks
Onix is already incredibly imposing as a giant snake composed of nearly twenty-eight feet of giant boulders. It is known for being a particularly aggressive Pokémon, which isn't good for anyone traveling through the mountains. With powerful moves like rock throw and stone edge at its disposal, it can easily hurt or crush anyone who happens to anger it or possibly trample it with its massive body.
Onix are also known for living deep underground, where they can dig tunnels at speeds that can reach up to fifty miles per hour despite the massive size of their bodies. Such actions have been known to cause massive tremors, creating trouble for hikers and other travelers. There is always a risk that humans could end up falling into whatever holes Onix makes in the ground, which can end up being incredibly deep and dangerous.
6 Sandaconda
A Docile Snake That Attacks With Sand
At first glance, Sandaconda might not seem all that dangerous, but it proves that looks can be quite deceiving. Its large pouch can store up to 200 pounds of sand, which it can blast out with enough force to blast away a dump truck. Sandaconda can even combine this sand with its own saliva to create incredibly sharp pieces of gravel that can easily make deep cuts in one's flesh.
Sandaconda's gigantimax form makes this Pokémon even more dangerous to be around, as it is able to become even more powerful and destructive. The amount of sand that this form holds jumps up to one million tons, and it is able to create a massive sandstorm that can create enough force to demolish an entire skyscraper. This is all proof that as docile as Sandaconda might appear at first glance, it is wise to avoid antagonizing it at all costs.
5 Gyarados
A Sea Serpent That Can Level Cities
Magikarp starts out as a rather docile and rather harmless Pokémon, but that all changes once it evolves into Gyarados. With many powerful moves such as Hydro Pump, Thrash, and Hyper Beam, it is quite obvious just how much of a threat this Pokémon can be when out in the wild. Combined with the fact that it has the ability to mega-evolve, it is no wonder why many powerful trainers seek it out to utilize its strength.

35 Cutest Pokémon Of All Time
Pokémon is filled with incredibly charming creatures, but some scary much more visual appeal than others. There's a reason some Pokémon are so iconic!
The Pokédex describes this massive sea serpent as being able to destroy entire cities in a fit of rage if angered enough. This means that any sailors that come across a Gyarados during their travels stand no chance against its unrelenting fury. As incredible as this Pokémon is, encountering one in the wild is almost certain to lead to disaster, especially for anyone caught unprepared to handle Gyarados' immense power.
4 Zygarde
Immensely Powerful Despite Being Incomplete
Zygarde is a legendary Pokémon with numerous different forms, and although its serpent form is only at half of its full power, it is still immensely dangerous to encounter. This legendary Pokémon is known to be utterly ruthless when it attacks, unable to show even a shred of mercy towards those who oppose it. It will be particularly merciless towards those who threaten the ecosystem and thereby threaten the very balance of nature itself.
There are a wide variety of attacks that Zygarde can utilize in order to deal with its opponents. Its signature move, Thousand Arrows, can hurt opponents even when hiding underground, while other attacks like Outrage utilize the immense strength of its Dragon typing. The anime even shows this version of Zygarde being capable of summoning and manipulating massive roots to attack, meaning that it can turn the entire forest against those who seek to harm it.
3 Rayquaza
An Incredibly Powerful & Heroic Sky Serpent
This ancient legendary Pokémon from Generation 3 is best known for being able to quell the fighting between Kyogre and Groudon, and it's clear to see why it's so capable of doing so. It is immensely fast, being able to fly at such high speeds that it can even destroy meteors. It can also summon powerful cyclones to overwhelm its opponents, utilizing the weather to its advantage.
Rayquaza's ability to mega evolve only serves to heighten its own speed and strength even further, as well as undo the primal power of both Kyogre and Groudon. With all this power at its disposal, it's good that this legendary Pokémon has such a heroic nature.
2 Giratina
A Serpent-Like Dragon From Another Dimension
As the ruler of the Distortion World, Giratina is already an immensely dangerous and powerful legendary Pokémon, and its origin form makes it all the more terrifying. Giratina's origin form allows it to unleash its true strength, which is seen during the fight against Volo at the end of Pokémon Legends Arceus. Its serpent-like appearance truly makes it resemble a dangerous being from another world, thereby adding to its mystery.
With its true power unleashed, Giratina has numerous terrifying attacks at its disposal. It can disappear into thin air, attack with Shadow Force, and strike the opponent with other powerful moves like Shadow Claw, Aura Sphere, and Earth Power. The fight against Volo and the various moves prove why Giratina should be avoided should anyone be unfortunate enough to come across it unprepared.
1 Eternatus
Capable Of Causing The Apocalypse
Although this legendary Pokémon's power is responsible for providing the people of the Galar region with the ability to Dynamax their monsters, it is still one that many would want to avoid out in the wild. Eternatus is so powerful that it can bring about an apocalyptic-level event known as The Darkest Day, where a dark storm covers the region, and numerous Dynamaxed and Gigantimaxed Pokémon end up going berserk. As cool as Eternatus may appear, it is, without a doubt, the most dangerous snake-like creature in the entire Pokémon franchise.
