In Pokémon Legends: Arceus, Peat Blocks are an evolutionary item responsible for evolving Ursaring into Ursaluna. There are four different ways to obtain Peat Blocks in Arceus, all of which are pretty time-consuming or luck-based, but getting one is an important step in filling out the Pokédex entry for Ursaluna. The prospect of obtaining Ursaluna itself is also especially appealing because it is a new evolution introduced in Legends: Arceus, with the premier example of its species being one of the game’s Ride Pokémon.

Fortunately, since there are multiple ways to get Peat Blocks, you can have multiple Ursaring in Pokémon Legends: Arceus evolve into Ursaluna. While only one Ursaluna is technically needed to fill out the Pokédex, there are still reasons to have more. For example, they can be valuable for trading, and you will need to catch five Ursaluna to finish the Research Tasks for the species. Likewise, these evolutions will also count towards Ursaring’s own evolution Research Task, helping you to fully complete Legends: Arceus’ Pokédex quicker.

Where To Get Peat Block In Arceus

There Are Multiple Methods To Obtain Ursaluna's Evolution Item

There are a total of three guaranteed ways to get a Peat Block in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, although not all of them are repeatable. They are:

Peat Block Location

How To Get

Ginko Guild Shop

Ginter will always have a different set of items for sale. If he starts selling a "Hunk of Coal" for 10,000 Poké Dollars, then this is a Peat Block. Ginter will change which items he's selling after the player captures 20 Pokémon.

Request 86

This is the Gone Astray...in the Icelands quest. Wanda wants the player to find her brother in Alabaster Icelands and a Peat Block is given as a reward for completing this mission.

Hunting With Ursaluna

Ursaluna has the chance to find Peat Blocks when scanning the area for treasure. Unfortunately, it's incredibly rare and possibly the hardest way to obtain this item.

Checking the shop as often as possible is the best way for you to repeatedly get Peat Blocks in Legends: Arceus fast. While both are reliant on luck, Ginter’s restocks are still much quicker to check than hunting for treasure with Ursaluna. Regularly taking a few moments out of exploring Hisui to check his shop whenever possible will help you steadily build up a supply of the item during regular gameplay.

Where To Find (& Catch) Cherrim In Pokémon Legends: Arceus

Cherrim is one of the rarest Pokémon that players will need to find and capture in Pokémon Legends: Arceus in order to complete their Pokédex.

The fact that completing Gone Astray…in the Icelands is not affected by chance does guarantee that you will always be able to obtain a Peat Block in Legends: Arceus regardless of your luck with other methods. However, because beginning this Request requires waiting until the Icelands are unlocked, you will have plenty of time to find a Peat Block through Ginter’s shop and even with Ursaluna beforehand. But in any case, even once a Peat Block is acquired, it can only be used to evolve an Ursaring into Ursaluna under very specific conditions.

Where To Find Teddiursa, Ursaring, and Ursaluna

The Entire Evolutionary Family Can Be Found In Similar Locations

An attacking Alpha Ursaring and fleeing Teddiursa at Ursa's Ring in Pokémon Legends: Arceus' Crimson Mirelands.

Ursaring is among the many Pokémon you can catch in the Crimson Mirelands, as is it's prior evolution Teddiursa. The best place in Hisui for you to find Teddiursa is the appropriately named Ursa’s Ring, which is found just to the south of Sludge Mound. The regular Teddiursa, which can be found here, ranges between Levels 20-22 and 26-29, while Alpha variants are Levels 41-44. This area of the Crimson Mirelands is also home to a Fixed Alpha Ursaring, which is itself always Level 41. Both Pokémon can also be found here regardless of the time of day or weather.

You can also find both Teddiursa and Ursaring at Droning Meadow at any time of day except night, and the Pokémon found here are slightly stronger than those found at Ursa’s Ring (except for non-Alpha Ursaring). Both species can similarly later be found in the Coronet Highlands along Sonorous Path, once more at any time of day.

Although some may be bold enough to attack, Teddiursa will usually flee from you if approached. However, you will still need the entire family line to complete the Pokédex, making it well worth capturing a Teddiursa and evolving it all the way through to Ursaluna. The best method to catch these skittish Pokémon is to throw berries in their general vicinity and then wait for them to start eating; the distraction makes it much easier to approach without startling them. Ursaring, meanwhile, are much more aggressive, making it simpler to battle them before attempting a capture.

All stages of this evolutionary family can also be found during Mass Outbreaks, depending on your progress in the game. For example, both Teddiursa and Ursaring can be found during Mass Outbreaks at the Golden Lowlands near Gapejaw Bog. Meanwhile, Ursaluna itself is one of the Pokémon found in Massive Mass Outbreaks. These examples of the Peat Pokémon are rare spawns that can accompany other of their evolutionary family, particularly if the outbreak in question has a second wave available after the first has been cleared (indicated by a star icon on the map).

How To Evolve Ursaring With Peat Block

Ursaring Can Only Evolve Into Ursaluna During a Full Moon

Ursaluna in Pokémon Legends: Arceus at night

Evolving Ursaring into Urslauna is one of the more complex evolutions in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. This is because its evolution is actually time-based in addition to requiring an Evolution Item. More specifically, you can only evolve Ursaring on the night of a full moon. Although this additional requirement is not made explicit in-game, the full moon design on Ursaluna’s forehead still hints at its significance to the Pokémon. Fortunately, this second requirement is easy for you to satisfy by resting at a camp.

There are 242 Pokémon in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, and players will have to catch them all to fill the first-ever Pokédex of the Hisui region.

After collecting a Peak Block and an Ursaring, head to a camp and rest until nightfall, repeatedly until there is a full moon. It might take a few attempts, but keep selecting nightfall when resting in order to move through the lunar cycle until Ursaring is shown to be compatible with the item. Doing this will enable the use of the peat block to evolve Ursaring into Ursaluna. The Noble Pokémon are the most difficult but rewarding creatures to get in Pokémon Legends: Arceus and Ursaluna is an incredibly powerful physical attacker that can work well on any team.
