A press release (via Games Press) from developer All Possible Futures reveals that The Plucky Squire will launch on the Nintendo Switch on September 17, 2024. The game will also be released on September 17 for PC, Xbox, and PS5.
PlayStation Plus subscribers can get their hands on the charming new game in their libraries on launch. "That’s basically free - like a library book," states the press release. The new release date was announced with a charming trailer that shows the game's hero, Jot, using in-game mechanics to form the date.

The game follows Jot, the titular "plucky squire," as he travels through a storybook world. The story kicks off when Jot encounters the "seriously unchill wizard Humfrump," who exiles Jot from the pages of his own book. The game switches seamlessly between 2D and 3D worlds throughout Jot's adventure in a style that evokes Paper Mario vibes.

All Futures Possible, the studio behind the game, is helmed by former Pokémon Sword and Shield director James Turner and The Swords of Ditto director Jonathan Biddle.
