A New UHD Blu-ray Edition Preserves Kon’s Vision

The new Ultra HD Blu-ray of Perfect Blue is scheduled for release in Japan on February 28th, coinciding with the original theatrical release date in 1998. Two editions will be available:

  • Standard Blu-ray Edition: Priced at 6,800 yen (approximately $43.00).
  • Deluxe 2-Disc Edition: Includes a Blu-ray disc and a 4K UHD disc, priced at 11,800 yen (approximately $76.00).
The deluxe edition features exclusive extras, including 35mm film clips from a theatrical print of Perfect Blue, a postcard set, and a booklet containing Satoshi Kon’s writings on the film. Fans outside Japan are hopeful that an overseas distributor will bring this special release to international markets soon.
