NBCUniversal had a golden third-quarter in 2024, and much of that is thanks to its comprehensive coverage of the Paris Olympics. Revenue for parent company Comcast's media segment (which consists of NBCUniversal as well as streamer Peacock) was up nearly 37%. The Paris Olympics averaged about 30.3 million viewers daily across all of NBCUniversal's cable channels, which include Bravo, CNBC, E!, MSNBC, Oxygen, SYFY. Peacock saw such wins during the Paris Games that Wall Street may now be looking at it as a genuine competitor in streaming, rivaling the likes of Netflix.
