Peacemaker season 2 will carry over from the DCEU movie timeline into the new DC Universe continuity, making it one of many shows. While it was known that the show would return sometime in 2025, specific details have been kept under wraps until now. Beyond Cena, the series stars Jennifer Holland, Danielle Brooks, Freddie Stroma, and Steve Agee.
During a preview event for Max and HBO (via IGN), CEO and Chairman Casey Bloys revealed that Peacemaker season 2 will premiere in August 2025. An exact premiere date will be revealed at a later time. The series was recently featured in an HBO/Max sizzle reel showing off their 2025 slate.

With the August 2025 release window set, the timing of Max's update is fitting, as the Peacemaker season 2 cast is close to completing filming the season. According to Gunn on Threads, on November 8, they had about two weeks left to shoot, meaning post-production will be happening towards the end of the year. That gives Gunn and the creative team enough time to get things ready for Peacemaker season 2's August arrival. This also means the series can return around the anniversary of Cena's first onscreen appearance as Peacemaker, since The Suicide Squad debuted in August 2021.
The August window also makes sense, since Gunn has confirmed that the Peacemaker season 2 story takes place after David Corenswet's Superman movie. As it will be out nearly a month after Superman, it won't leave the DC Universe audience waiting too long to see more of Gunn's new franchise. By August 2025, fans will know in one way or another how Peacemaker actually fits into the overall DC Universe.
