At long last, One-Punch Man season 3 has released its first teaser trailer, something also accompanied by a confirmed release window of October 2025. Despite how contentious season 2 was, fans have been waiting years for season 3’s release, so finally getting a proper trailer after so long should have been plenty exciting.

Fans finally getting a teaser trailer for One-Punch Man season 3 should have been exciting, but unfortunately, that wasn’t the case. As a teaser trailer, there, naturally, wasn’t much to see, and it existed largely to confirm season 3’s October release date, but sure enough, what little was shown in season 3’s teaser trailer was met with nearly unanimous negativity from fans. It’s effectively killed what little faith people had in season 3’s quality, and unfortunately, it’s unknown what can be done to fix that, at this point.

Why One-Punch Man Fans Hate The Season 3 Teaser Trailer

Everything Wrong With One-Punch Man's New Trailer

One-Punch Man season 3’s teaser trailer was met with near-unanimous hate from the moment it dropped, and it’s easy to see why. For starters, not only did the trailer consist primarily of still images of various characters as opposed to any real animation, but the artwork was noted to be significantly worse than season 1, and it was especially a step down from the manga’s artwork, as well. One-Punch Man season 3’s teaser trailer showed that the anime is still falling short of the manga and season 1 in of both artwork and animation, and that’s nothing but disappointing.

Even worse was the key visual released alongside the teaser trailer. Aside from trailers, key visuals are some of the best ways of getting fans excited about anime for how much they can convey about their stories in a single image, but for One-Punch Man season 3, its new key visual appears to just be a poorly-assembled collage of the character visuals for season 3. That means that neither One-Punch Man season 3’s teaser trailer, nor its key visual, do a good job of selling its visuals, which is hardly what fans wanted to see after so long.

Making everything worse is the irony of it all. A few days before the teaser trailer came out, One-Punch Man season 3 and said that J.C.Staff was “committed to creating a season that won’t disappoint fans”, and yet the new trailer suggests that it’s just as bad as season 2, if not worse. The poor quality of One-Punch Man season 3’s teaser trailer and visual is made worse by how it comes after comments about making season 3 look good, and overall, it’s no wonder why people have been reacting so negatively.

One-Punch Man Season 3’s Story Deserves A Better Production Than What’s Been Promised

One-Punch Man's Biggest Arc Won't Get The Treatment It Deserves

One-Punch Man season 3’s poor quality is especially bad with what season 3 is set to cover. Season 3 will adapt the true beginning of the manga’s take on the Monster Association arc, and anyone who’s read the manga knows that the arc features some of the manga’s best artwork and fights with an excellent sense of scale and constant escalation. A standout arc like One-Punch Man’s Monster Association arc deserves better production values than what’s been promised by season 3, so old and new fans alike will probably be left dissatisfied all over again.

There’s Only One Hope For One-Punch Man Season 3 After The Teaser Trailer

Is There Still A Chance One-Punch Man Season 3 Will Be Good?

Key visual for One-Punch Man season 3

There’s no denying that One-Punch Man season 3’s new trailer looks bad, but there still might be hope for season 3. There are many times when a teaser trailer will be designed largely as a proof of concept of sorts, with the art and animation often taking a backseat so it’s easier to just give people a general idea of things. Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War did that with its first teaser trailer, so One-Punch Man season 3’s teaser trailer might be structured the way it is because it’s not meant to show off the production quality.

That idea doesn’t hold much weight, unfortunately. Not only does the poor quality of One-Punch Man season 2 give little reason to think season 3 will be better, but despite its October 2025 release window, J.C.Staff still hasn’t revealed season 3’s director or any other principal staff , so the weird execution of One-Punch Man season 3’s teaser trailer can be seen as nothing but a bad sign for season 3. It would be great if One-Punch Man season 3 was a step up from season 2, but unfortunately, there’s little reason to think that at this point.
