most eagerly anticipated games of the year until its release was postponed.
Development of a new entry in the series has been ongoing since at least 2019. No More Heroes 3 was officially unveiled as a Switch exclusive at that year's E3 convention and numerous trailers have been shown off since then. The story will seemingly take place nine years after the events of its predecessor and once again feature the signature third-person action gameplay the franchise is known for. Unfortunately, the title has been delayed into 2021 because of the COVID-19 pandemic interfering with the production as staff have been forced to work from home.
In a new Nintendo Direct mini stream, Nintendo has revealed that No Mores Heroes 1 & 2 are coming to the Switch today. No More Heroes and No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle originally launched for the Wii over a decade ago. Remastered to take advantage of the extra power in the Switch, they include HD textures along with some quality of life improvements such as better system fonts and for more languages. The two games are available to purchase right now from the eShop. However, they are not bundled together in a collection and instead have to be bought individually. Players can get them on sale until November 14 for $18 and $20 respectively.
2020 has already been a great year for the Nintendo Switch. The hybrid console has gone from strength to strength throughout the last 12 months, with demand rising in part due to the COVID-19 pandemic forcing people to stay indoors. Even with the system being out of stock for a significant period of time this year, it hasn't stopped Nintendo from closing the gap between the Switch and the Xbox One. In fact, the Switch is now expected to outsell Microsoft's current-gen console in the US over the course of the next year.
While No More Heroes 1 & 2 never enjoyed mainstream success, the two games have become cult classics and developed a dedicated following. Of course, it makes sense for Nintendo to remaster both games with the third game expected to launch next year, as it gives more players the chance to try out the first two releases and drive interest in the sequel.
