Bravo's latest sensation, Next Gen NYC, premiered on June 3, and with it, model and nepo baby Ava Dash has entered the mainstream. Ava comes from a storied lineage of entertainment royalty, and she's here to prove she's worthy of a spotlight of her own. Ava's parents are music and fashion icons, and she grew up on the streets of Tribeca in New York City before relocating to Los Angeles. She's back in Manhattan now, and with her circle of friends, she's ushering in a new era of reality TV fame.

Ava's lived her life in the spotlight via her parents, but she's also made a name for herself in the fashion world and even made a few appearances on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills as the nanny to Crystal Kung Minkoff and the girlfriend to Innis Jenkins, the son of former RHOBH star Diana Jenkins. Ava's Parents Are Damon Dash And Rachel Roy

Music and fashion have always gone together, and it's not unusual for a model or designer to date a singer or rapper. But before there was Justin and Hailey Bieber, there was Rachel Roy and Damon Dash, one of hip-hop and fashion's most iconic couples. Married from 2005 to 2009, Damon and Rachel had two children: Ava and Tallulah Dash.

Damon was the co-founder of Roc-A-Fella Records, along with Jay-Z and Kareem Burke, while Rachel was an in-demand designer. According to the New York Post, Damon famously had his share of the record label sold to the state of New York in 2024 after it was revealed that Damon owed $8 million in back taxes. In 2015, People reported that Damon had lost custody of both of his daughters after he failed to show up to a court appearance. Rachel also received a restraining order against Damon, so it's safe to say their split wasn't friendly.

Ava was born on Dec. 7, 1999 in New York City, making Ava a Sagittarius. As a Sagittarius, Ava is most likely full of energy and curiosity, and also has a love of adventure and freedom. Ava's legendary parents had Ava a few years before tying the knot, and welcomed her sister, Tallulah, in 2008, just before their divorce. In 2022, The Daily Mail reported that Damon had asked for a significant reduction in child payments for Tallulah, citing loss of income during the pandemic and claiming he made less than $6K that year.

Ava has been modeling since she was a child. But don't let her appearance fool you: Ava's a 2022 graduate of Loyala Marymount University and is also a published author. In 2019, Ava and her mother co-wrote 96 Words for Love. According to Ava's website, avadash.com, the book's proceeds went to survivors of sex trafficking in India.

Ava has also modeled in campaigns for Ugg, BCBG, and Skims.

In a 2015 article in Teen Vogue, Ava discussed some of the charities she'd been involved in. Ava said she felt called to give back after visiting orphanages in Ghana with her mother when she was a child. Ava told the publication, "It was eye-opening. The kids weren't that different from me; they just needed ." Ava also volunteered her time with Covenant House and Step Up in Los Angeles, which s unhoused teens.
