This weekend, coronavirus pandemic still going, streaming platforms continue being not only the go-to source of entertainment for many but also the best alternative for studios to release those movies that couldn’t get a proper, theatrical release. Luckily for Netflix subscribers, in addition to housing movies affected by the pandemic, the streaming giant still has a long list of licensed and original content to add for months to come.

Last weekend, Netflix welcomed the sci-fi movie Prospect and the holiday movies A Christmas Catch, Christmas With A Prince, and A New York Christmas Wedding, along with the Swedish TV series Operation Christmas Drop. This weekend, the streaming giant will add Ryan Coogler’s Fruitvale Station, the action movie V for Vendetta, the animated movie Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2, the horror movie Prom Night, and American Horror Story: 1984.

Soon they find that they have more in common than they expected, and an unusual romance begins to build up.

Next on the list of Netflix's Christmas content this weekend is the musical Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey, directed by David E. Talbert. It follows toymaker Jeronicus Jangle (Forest Whitaker) and his granddaughter Journey Jangle (Madalen Mills), who come up with a magical invention that could change their lives if they get it to work in time for the holidays – sadly, Jeronicus’ apprentice Gustafson (Keegan-Michael Key) steals his prized creation, and so it’s up to Journey to get it back.

Set in seaside Italy, it’s the story of Holocaust survivor Madame Rosa (Sophia Loren) who takes in 12-year-old street kid Momo (Ibrahima Gueye), who recently robbed her. The two end up becoming each other’s protectors, forming an unconventional family.

The Netflix drama series Margaret Thatcher’s (Gillian Anderson) premiership, and will finally introduce Lady Diana Spencer (Emma Corrin). Among the events depicted this season will be the wedding of Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spencer, their 1983 tour of Australia and New Zealand, the Falklands War, Michael Fagan’s break-in at Buckingham Palace, Lord Mountbatten’s funeral, the Princess of Wales’ appearance at the Barnard’s Champion Children Awards and her 1989 flight on Concorde.
