This plan took him decades of manipulating events, and when he finally tried to accomplish it, Batman tried to stop him. Batman's no-kill rule is infamous among his villains, and it applies even if someone is killing for the betterment of the planet. Damian's life growing up was significantly different from every other Robin: he didn't witness tragedy at a young age like Dick, he didn't have to survive on his own like Jason, and he didn't grow up in a loving family like Tim. Damian was born as the heir to the League of Assassins. He was meant to grow up and take over from Ra's al Ghul, and go on to rule the world. By the time he was ten years old, he'd killed a hundred people already. This might be why Damian Wayne is the darkest Robin, but he also went through the least amount of trauma, when compared to the other Robins, at least at first.

Long-time readers will that way back in Batman #77 by Tom King, Mikel Janin, and Tony S. Daniel, Damian was traumatized when he witnessed the death of Alfred. Damian had been under the impression that Alfred had escaped Bane's clutches, but he was quickly shown just how wrong he was, as he was captured and forced to watch as Bane snapped Alfred's neck, killing him instantly. This brutal event has had long-lasting consequences for comics, as Alfred still hasn't returned and Damian still struggles with the guilt of what happened. While every other Robin has faced loss in some way, Damian was the only one who felt like he had the power to stop it. When Dick saw his parents die, he was an untrained child who couldn't have done anything, Damian on the other hand, ran into a situation based on bad intel, and got one of his foster fathers killed. In One Bad Day, Damian accompanied Batman to fight Ra's and again had to watch, helpless to help, as Bruce was killed.

Ultimately, Damian was able to revive Bruce using a Lazarus pit in Batman - One Bad Day: Ra's al Ghul, and he has also been slowly working out the guilt of Alfred's death. These two events, despite being in separate universes, really are some of the most traumatic things a Robin has ever gone through, which makes Damian the most traumatized Robin of the entire DC Multiverse.
